The villages

Sant Antoni and its parishes
To hop onto a car, open a map and mark a route that departs from Sant Antoni and crosses the village centres of Sant Rafel, Santa Agnès de Corona and Sant Mateu d’Albarca is a great way of discovering the most rural and beautiful aspects of the municipality which still maintain its true essence and tradition. Along the way you will find fields with reddish soil where almond trees and carob trees grow and where you will notice the scent of thyme and from where you will see the churches of San Rafael, San Mateo and Santa Inés shine a bright white. The latter two villages only have a few houses built around the churches due to the fact that the inhabitants of the inland areas of the island traditionally were scattered around the area and only approached the churches on holidays or to do some shopping at the convenience store that acted simultaneously as a cafeteria, a tobacconist, and a post office. Do you want a suggestion? Why not visit a wine cellar and sit down to eat at one of the inland restaurants?
