Ibiza Spring Food Festival Sabors 2021
From 24 May to 24 June, the Ibiza Spring Food Festival Sabors 2021 will be showcasing the island’s seasonal produce. Highlights of this month long event will be ingredients such as octopus, Norway lobster, lamb and red potatoes, organised jointly with the island’s 19 restaurants, 4 of which are in the municipal district of Sant Antoni, with their chefs devising some delicious menus, based on foods grown and produced locally in Ibiza or fished in its waters this spring.
Ibiza is a beautiful little island, and it harbours some real culinary treasures, frequently known to just a few. Dishes that are an essential component of the local culture, such as “bullit de peix”, rice with local fish caramel (Spicara smaris) and cauliflower, meat and rice “de matanza,”- traditionally eaten at pig slaughtering time-, “sofrit pagès” and “flaó”, to name just a few. Every place has its own special dishes and the characteristic flavour that marks their local origins.
