Sant Rafel handicraft exhibition
de l’església – Sant Rafel
Halfway between Sant Antoni and Ibiza is the town of Sant Rafel, with its beautiful hilltop church. It played a key role in the past as the hub of a network of roads leading all over the island. And today it is also famous for being an outstanding pottery centre. It is not surprising that it is the only town to bear the title of “Zone of Craft Interest”, an official acknowledgement of the extraordinary work carried out by various potters. Its workshops, open to the public, are located in the high street of the town, and display a varied range of items of all kinds, mostly inspired by Punic culture, which is so important in Pityusan history. Stopping to observe the skill of the craftworkers is, without a doubt, a sight worth seeing, and buying one of the articles is an even better idea.
